Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, is set to return to Germany for further treatment, leaving the state in political turmoil. Akeredolu, who has been undergoing medical treatment for an undisclosed ailment, will hand over power to his deputy, Lucy Aiyedatiwa, as the acting governor. This move follows the political crisis in the state, including an attempt to impeach the governor by some lawmakers. The absence of Akeredolu has created a leadership vacuum, with the executive council divided into factions loyal to the governor and the deputy governor. The crisis has led to court cases and political unrest in the state. The resolution remains uncertain as external interventions have so far failed to bring a lasting solution.
