Troops from the Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) have successfully neutralized three terrorists and confiscated weapons and motorcycles in Zamfara State. A senior military officer shared details with the press in Gusau, the state capital, highlighting the thwarting of a terrorist attack in Danjibga village, Tsafe Local Government Area, and the prevention of farm produce destruction in Faru village, Maradun Local Government Area.

The officer reported, “On the 7th of December 2023, the joint Troops of Operation Hadarain Daji (OPHD) thwarted a terrorist attack on Danjibga village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, resulting in the neutralization of two terrorists, while others escaped with gunshot wounds. The troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, two magazines, and one motorcycle during the pursuit of the terrorists.

“Similarly, on the same date, another encounter occurred between OPHD troops and marauding terrorists, responding to credible information about the destruction of farm produce and farmlands in the general area of Faru village in Maradun Local Government Area. The resilient OPHD troops swiftly mobilized for a fighting patrol, engaging the terrorists in a gun duel and forcing them to flee in disarray.

“During this encounter, one terrorist was neutralized, and one AK-47 rifle, magazine, ammunition, and one motorcycle were recovered. The motorcycle was destroyed instantly.”
