President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has clarified that the president is currently dealing with a knee injury that resulted from a surgery. Onanuga emphasized that Tinubu is not suffering from any other ailment and that the knee surgery, conducted in London in 2021, is the reason for his difficulty in walking.

The knee surgery was performed before Tinubu commenced his presidential campaign, and Onanuga stated that his fitness was not compromised during the campaign. He explained that knee surgery, being a major procedure, requires time for recovery, and Tinubu is still nursing the injury. The presidential aide highlighted that Tinubu’s health condition is limited to the aftermath of the surgery and not any additional health concerns.
