PDP Crisis Deepens as Governor Wike, Ortom, Makinde, Others, Meets APC Presidential Candidate in Paris.

    Published on

Reports reaching us is to the effect that the embattled Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, and his counterparts in Benue State, Samuel Ortom, Oyo state, Seyi Makinde and Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu and others presumed to be loyalist of the Rivers state Governor are currently in a crucial meeting in Paris with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader and Presidential Candidate of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Wike’s team jetted out of Nigeria at about 1:30am on Monday morning, August 22, 2022 for the scheduled appointment.

According to our sources in Paris, the meeting in which the Governor Wike led group are to decide wether to pitch their tents with the APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu or The Labour Party Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, is holding at the Hotel PENINSULA, 19 Kleber Avenue, Paris. It was revealed that, Governor Wike is lodged in room 507, Hotel Peninsula, while the APC leader is on the 6th floor of the same hotel.

It is however sketchy if Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party who was spotted boarding a flight at the Lagos International Airport, immediately after his presentation at the ongoing NBA conference is heading to Paris to join Governor Wike and his team.

This explains why both Governor Nyesom Wike, who is a leading member of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), and the APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu were both absent at the opening of the ongoing NBA conference in Lagos.

This meeting is a confirmation that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, even before the 2022 Presidential Primaries of the PDP, has been working underground for the APC Candidate, Bola Tinubu.

This move is a clear indication that the Governor Wike led group has been deceiving the leadership of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a fruitless reconciliation meetings, but has already decided to play the “spoiler game” by destroying the party from within, frustrate the chances of the PDP Presidential Candidate in the 2023 Presidential Election, Atiku Abubakar or when the push comes to shove, move enmass to the APC or Labour Party when the PDP least expedited.

It is important to note here that, part of Governor Wike’s plan ahead of the 2023 general elections, is to use the former Governor of Ondo state, Olusegun Mimiko and other surrogates in Katsina, Kebbi, Cross River, Kano and other states to destabilize the campaigns of the PDP, especially the chances of its Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Nigerians will recall that the Rivers State Governor who came second in the PDP Presidential primaries, has been engaging the party in a battle for supremacy, calling for the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, among other unpardonable demands. It is however clearer now that the whole essence of Governor Wike’s battle in the PDP was to pave way for a Bola Tinubu Presidency in 2023.
