    ‎Two die after fresh attack on Plateau mining site ‎

    ‎Two persons have been confirmed dead, following a fresh attack on a mining site in Heipang District, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
    ‎
    ‎The incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday at Kuru Jenta mining site, according to community sources.
    ‎
    ‎President of the Berom Youth Moulders Association, Solomon Mwantiri, said a terrorist gang attacked and killed the two men at the site.
    ‎
    ‎A member of the affected community, Bulus, who also confirmed the killings, said the victims were at the mining site despite the curfew imposed by the state government.
    ‎
    ‎Bulus condemned the attack and urged residents, especially miners, to avoid nighttime mining activities and comply with security restrictions.
    ‎
    ‎Similarly, the spokesman of the Berom Youth Moulders Association, Rwang Tengwong, called on security agencies to investigate the killings, identify the attackers and bring them to justice.
    ‎
    ‎Tengwong also advised miners to adhere to security measures and avoid operating at night.
    ‎
    ‎As of the time of filing this report, neither security agencies nor the Plateau State Government had issued an official statement on the incident.
