The Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS) has officially commenced the second quarter 2026 enrollment exercise for young entrepreneurs under the Federal Government’s vocational empowerment initiative aimed at promoting self-reliance and reducing youth unemployment across the country.
The programme, which began on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, is being implemented through the N-Power Vocational Training scheme under the National Social Investment Program Agency (NSIPA). Beneficiaries are expected to undergo a two-week intensive vocational training in various skill acquisition programmes, after which they will be equipped with tools and resources to establish themselves as entrepreneurs and employers of labour.
Participants drawn from the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) expressed appreciation to the organizers and the Federal Government for providing them with the opportunity to acquire vocational skills in their preferred areas of interest.
Speaking during the enrollment exercise, the Director General of CYMS, Chief Obinna Nwaka, urged beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity provided by the Renewed Hope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He also commended the efforts and support of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, as well as the youthful leadership of the Honourable Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, in advancing youth-focused empowerment initiatives.
Chief Nwaka further expressed gratitude to members of the CYMS leadership team, including Prince Boluwaji Qudus and Hon. Kelechi Ugwumba, for their dedication, commitment, and continued efforts in ensuring that humanity remains at the center of the organization’s activities.
According to the organization, the initiative is designed to curb youth restiveness, promote entrepreneurship, and create sustainable economic opportunities for young Nigerians through vocational training and empowerment.
