Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has called on the  Tarok Nation to shun clannish agenda and promote  unity by  ending  clan-based suspicion in the selection of the “Ponzhi Tarok ” .

He stressed that it is not the role of government to select a Ponzhi, but only to guide the process.

Mutfwang urged citizens to be patient with his administration and shun divisive narratives, citing visible progress in key sectors including education and infrastructure.

Represented by the Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, Arc. Samuel Jatau, the Governor spoke at the thanksgiving service of the Rector, Plateau State Polytechnic Barkin Ladi, Dr. Clement Chirman.

The service was held at Grace of God Mission International, Shishiri, Langtang North LGA.

Governor Mutfwang said the institution’s student population had grown since the current administration came on board, stressing that it was no small feat.

“When we came in 2023, Plateau was in a state of coma. Accreditation for the polytechnic required ₦650 million, and without hesitation, Governor Caleb Mutfwang approved it,” he said.

He described the growth as evidence that the government was delivering, despite the deep decay inherited.

The Governor also highlighted the ₦30 billion Langtang Dam contract as one of the biggest projects awarded by the administration, noting that development takes time when starting from a collapsed system.

Addressing the Tarok Nation, he called for unity and an end to clan-based suspicion in the selection of the Ponzhi. He stressed that it is not the role of government to select a Ponzhi, but only to guide the process.

“When the Tarok Nation is ready and united, the government is ready,” he said.

The Governor urged young people in the area to embrace hard work and integrity, warning that posting negative narratives on social media only brings shame to the land.

He added that the Tarok man is hardworking, honest, and proud, and should live up to that legacy.

The Governor commended the celebrant,  Clement Chirman, for his contributions to the polytechnic.

The Celebrant Clement Chirman said he was thanking God for His grace upon his life.

Dignitaries at the event also spoke glowingly about the Rector’s leadership and impact.

The event was attended by government officials, traditional rulers, contractors, and members of the church community.
