‎A House of Representatives aspirant for the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sarah Ivie Adidi, has expressed worry over the plight of residents of the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

‎Adidi raised the concern after rounding off a tour of wards in the area council. The tour featured consultations with party leaders and other stakeholders at the grassroots.

‎The final phase of the tour involved visits to Ushafa, Bwari Central, Kuduru, Kubwa, Usuma, Byazhin and Dutse Alhaji.

‎She noted that the challenges faced by residents of the area council underscores the need for an effective representation in the National Assembly, in order to address their problems.

‎Adidi stated that the ward tour was not only an opportunity to seek support, but also a chance to directly interact with residents, understand their challenges, and identify immediate areas requiring intervention.

‎“This tour has allowed me to truly listen to the people and understand their realities firsthand. Leadership must begin with listening and, where possible, taking immediate action,” she said.

‎Following concerns raised during engagements with ward party executives, the aspirant announced interventions including repair and repainting of the APC office in Shere Ward, payment of two year’s rent for the APC Kuduru ward office and provision of footballs for a tournament in Igu Ward, to encourage youth participation and community engagement through sports.

‎Party leaders, supporters and other stakeholders extolled Adidi’s grassroots approach and response to community needs, which they said have strengthened confidence in her leadership capacity.

‎According to the revised APC timetable, the primaries for the National Assembly elections, including House of Representatives and Senate, will come up on May 15, 2026.

‎It would be recalled that chairmen of the six geo-political zones of the APC in the FCT had backed Adidi to represent the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎They took the decision at a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja, where party leaders, grassroots mobilisers, and key stakeholders converged to deliberate on the political future of the constituency and the need for effective representation.
