    Nigerian singer Destiny Boy has passed away at 22

    Renowned Nigerian Afrobeat singer Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, has passed away at the age of 22.

    The news was confirmed on Sunday, January 18, 2025, following the circulation of a video on social media showing the singer’s lifeless body. His remains are currently being transported to Abeokuta, Ogun State, for burial.

    Destiny Boy rose to prominence in 2019 with his Fuji-style cover of Davido’s hit song “If”, earning widespread recognition in the Nigerian music scene. In November 2024, he had announced the birth of his first child on his Instagram page.

    His untimely death has sparked an outpouring of grief among fans and fellow artists across the country.
