As part of a series of events marking the important strides the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made in bringing affordable transportation and enabling domestic utilization of gas for industrialization, the Presidential CNG Initiative is pleased to announce a series of important events demonstrating the administration’s commitment to the ongoing CNG Revolution. The specific milestone events lined up are as follows:
1. April 4, 2025- Signing Ceremony of Arete Mini-LNG Project Investment of $6 million to drive expansion of CNG to the North.
2. April 7, 2025- Presidential Brief on PCNGI Progress to date
3. April 11, 2025- Groundbreaking agreement between PCNGI and Public Sector Unions on CNG Conversions to be delivered to 200,000 public sector employees.
4. April 15, 2025 – Phase 1 Flagoff of the roll out of Tricycle Deployment program with NACTOMORAS/ Fed Ministry of Youths
5. April 25, 2025-May 29, 2025- Commissioning of Critical Last Mile CNG Distribution Refueling Stations in Enugu, FCT, Lokoja, Port Harcourt, Ado Ekiti and Abia states, expanding the nationwide footprint of CNG and enabling intra state transport from key trafffic centers of Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano.
6. Week of May 5, 2025- Handover of Buses and Launch of Targeted Conversion Programs to service men of Nigerian Army.
7. Week of May 19- Launch of Security Services Train the Trainer Program for CNG Conversion of Nigerian Army, Navy, Air force and Police Workshop Technicians
8. May 2025- Autogas Framework Operationalization to enable seamless supply at discounted inlet prices for Auto CNG Sector in collaboration with GACN and NGML.
9. May 29, 2025- Basic Awareness Training Launch for Auto Technicians and Artisans
10. May 29-June 12, 2025- Launch of six Sites in Phase 1 of the University CNG Infrastructure Program with MDGIF and Federal Ministry of Education.
The Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGI) work in the past year indeed has been transformative and these programs delivery demonstrates its commitment to a rapid transition of the Nigerian Transportation Sector with CNG.
