Ekiti Accord Party candidate, Opeyemi Falegan alleges voter inducement

‎The Ekiti State governorship candidate of the Accord Party, Opeyemi Falegan, has raised the alarm over alleged voter inducement at his polling unit in Idofin, Ado-Ekiti.

‎“I have just exercised my civic responsibility by casting my vote in the Ekiti State governorship election as a candidate at my polling unit in Idofin Ado-Ekiti,” Falegan said in a Facebook post on Saturday.

‎He alleged that the electoral process had been marred by voter inducement and laxity on the part of security agents in maintaining order.

‎He alleged that some individuals offered voters in his polling unit the sum of N20,000 to vote for one of the other candidates.

‎“It was really sad to see vote buying everywhere at 20k per vote, and security agents synergising with those acts,” the Accord Party candidate said.

‎He noted that the ongoing election did not represent what “a good democratic process” should be.

‎He stated that he condemned the process, and concluded that no election took place in the state.

‎“20k for 4 years. That is 5k per year. Ayeyintibajeeeee,” Falegan said in another post.

‎He also alleged that INEC’s Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) failed to work effectively.
