The Katsina State Government has refuted claims by the Debt Management Office (DMO) suggesting that the state, along with others, has obtained new loans. In response, the government clarified that it has not borrowed any funds since assuming office on May 29.

Governor Dikko Radda’s administration, through its Chief Press Secretary Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, emphasized that their focus has been on repaying existing loans procured by previous administrations.

“There has been no new borrowing by the current All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Katsina,” stated Kaula-Mohammed.

While acknowledging the possibility of borrowing in the future for developmental purposes, the spokesperson affirmed that currently, there are no new loans.

Kaula-Mohammed also expressed gratitude to the media for their role in keeping the public informed and urged continued support for the administration’s efforts in enhancing the welfare of the citizens through meaningful projects.
