    Kogi civil servants,Banks, health workers comply with strike by NLC

    Civil servants in Kogi state on Tuesday complied with the directive of the Central Working Committee of the Nigerian Labour Congress,NLC and the Trda Union Congress, TUC ordering all workers to proceed on strike as from midnight on Tuesday.

    A visit to the Kogi state Secretariat along Zone 8 road showed no warmer turned up for work on Tuesday morning while door were not opened, the only person at work were Security personnel Manning the premises.

    Similarly,our Correspondent paid a visit to one of the new generation bank whose doors were firmly closed with only the security personnel seen on duty.
    “The is not opening today, I don’t know if they are on strike or not, I only know that workers are at work today” . The Security man told our correspondent.

    However,the state Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress,Comrade, Gabriel Amari said so far there is about 80- 85 complaince as the directive to all banks by national Union of Banks and Financial Employees,Nubife have sent a circular to them ordering them to comply,that is why you can see some of them opening now but as from Wednesday,all banks would be shut.

    “As for health institutions,we are expecting all patients to be discharged latest tonight and the hospitals will fully comply by Wednesday” Amari said.
