The Independent Campaign Council of the Ododo/Joel Campaign Organisation has extended its congratulations to Alhaji Ahmed Ododo on his triumph in the Kogi State governorship election, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday.
Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, running on the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket, secured victory with 446,237 votes, according to the results announced by INEC. The campaign council, in a statement signed by Media Director Jacob Edi on Monday, lauded Ododo’s authoritative victory, emphasizing the substantial margin by which he outperformed other candidates.
The council appealed to Ododo’s opponents to join hands with the governor-elect in advancing the development of the state, emphasizing that Kogi’s interests should transcend individual or sectional concerns.
The statement from the campaign council expressed commendation for outgoing Governor Yahaya Bello, acknowledging his efforts in ensuring a peaceful election contrary to earlier predictions. The orderly conduct of Kogi residents during the polls also earned praise from the Independent Campaign Council.
Furthermore, the council urged Ododo to promptly unite the state, leverage its abundant human and material resources, and implement plans for development to build upon the achievements of Governor Bello. The statement concluded with a call for the governor-elect to consolidate on the gains made and foster progress in Kogi State.
