The Social Democratic party, SDP has said that the purported stepping down of it candidate in the November 11 Governoship election is fake as nothing of such happened.

A statement issued by the Director, New Media of Muri Abenemi campaign, organization,David Ijele in Lokoja on Thursday stated that the rumour was baseless and the hand work if miscreants.

“The fake news of Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka , the Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) stepping down, withdrawing from the race or merging his structure with another party is false and baseless, this fake news and propaganda is the hand work of the miscreants, sinking ships and a group of people that repeatedly lied to themselves to feel comfortable against reality”.

According to him,”Murtala Yakubu Ajaka is the candidate of the people and can not step down for anyone at this point. It is already beyond him, Ajaka is the movement of the people as ordained by God.

The desperation of the opposition is likened to the last kicking of a dying lion.

For the sake of clarity, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka the Candidate of the SDP is in the contest to win, the SDP and ADC don’t have issues. Hence, the Yahaya Bello’s led administration attempt to turn the SDP against the ADC is dead on arrival.” Ijele said.

He said that Murtala Yakubu Ajaka did not and will not step down for anybody adding that He is the symbol and the source of inspiration for Kogites that want to take back their state from tyranny.

“We are calling on the general public, especially our supporters to disregard the fake letter of withdrawal or stepping down making rounds on the internet. The letter is not signed by Isaiah Davies Ijele and Ocheja Unekwu. This fake letter is the last resolve of the outgoing government and their allies”.
