The Kwara State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Mary Ronke Arinde, has commended the Kwara State Polytechnic for its productive service delivery.
The Commissioner, who gave the commendation on Tuesday during her familiarisation visit to the Polytechnic, was elated that the citadel of learning has maintained its standard as job creators rather than job seekers, through its entrepreneurial initiatives for students.
Having toured round the institution’s facilities, the Commissioner disclosed that government would tackle the polytechnic’s encroachment issue seriously, in order to protect lives and property around the institution, adding that security would be beefed up in the area.
She assured that the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq would offer its support and commitment at ensuring effective service delivery in tertiary institutions across the state.
She said: “The state government is proud of the entrepreneurial initiatives for students by the polytechnic, which has enhanced the productive output of the Polytechnic.”
In his remarks, the Rector of the Institution, Engr. (Dr.) Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, said the facility tour would enable the Commissioner to be abreast of the challenges facing the institution that was established about five decades ago.
The Rector assured the Commissioner that the management of the Polytechnic is prepared to key into the policy thrust of the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration.
