The State Security Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State, Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd), has called on residents from the South-South region living in the State to sustain their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, while empowering members of the community with business support items and cash.

Commander Omodara made the call on Monday in Lokoja during an empowerment meeting with the South-South community residing in Kogi State.

At the event, the Security Adviser who also doubles as Patron of the Southerners distributed sewing machines, grinding machines, textile materials and the sum of N1.5 million to members of the community to cushion the effect of subsidy removal on their businesses.

Speaking at the gathering, Omodara recalled that he began his military career in the South-South as a Naval Instructor in Rivers State, and commended the leadership of the community for uniting all members from the South-South states resident in Kogi.

He lauded the President of the community, Hon. Mike Abu, who is also the Special Adviser to the Governor on South-South Affairs, for his effective leadership and commitment to peaceful coexistence.

Omodara reeled out some of the achievements of the Ododo administration, including the ongoing construction of an International Airport, an International Market and 10-kilometre roads in each of the 21 Local Government Areas of the State, among other people-oriented projects.

He urged the community to vote en masse for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the next general elections, describing the President as determined to reposition the country for prosperity.

In his remarks, the former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and leader of the APC in Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon. Alfa Imam, also called on the South-South community to rally support for President Tinubu, noting that the administration is serious and committed to changing the fortunes of the country.

Earlier, Hon. Mike Abu, President of the South-South community in Kogi and Special Adviser to the Governor on South-South Affairs, commended Governor Ododo for the warm reception accorded the community during their visit to Government House.

He assured that the community will deliver 100 percent votes to the APC in both presidential and other elections.
