    Sanwo-Olu receives Onise, demands peace for Lekki Free Zone, Coastal Highway

    ‎Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has received the Onise of Ise, His Royal Majesty Oba Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, Okuoye VII, tasking him to sustain peace and responsible leadership in Ibeju-Lekki.

    ‎

    ‎The meeting held at the State House, Alausa, where Oba Saliu led the Onise-in-Council on a private audience with the governor.

    ‎

    ‎Sanwo-Olu commended the people of Ise and the entire Ibeju-Lekki corridor for their peaceful conduct and support for government initiatives.

    ‎

    ‎He offered prayers for the monarch’s reign and urged the palace to remain a peaceful anchor as major investments expand in the axis.

    ‎

    ‎His counsel centred on sustainable grassroots governance, peaceful coexistence and collaboration between traditional institutions and government to enable development thrive.

    ‎

    ‎Oba Saliu pledged commitment to protecting peace, security and investment in Ise and to supporting the state’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda.

    ‎

    ‎”As a traditional ruler and Chartered Accountant, I understand responsible leadership and accountability. Development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace,” he said.

    ‎

    ‎He listed the Lekki Free Zone, Lekki Deep Sea Port, Dangote Refinery and Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as multi-billion dollar projects hosted by Ise with implications for Lagos and Nigeria.

    ‎

    ‎”These investments present enormous opportunities but also responsibilities. As host community, we must provide the secure environment for businesses to thrive,” he said.

    ‎

    ‎The monarch presented a Letter of Appreciation to Sanwo-Olu for his support during his appointment and presentation of Staff of Office.

    ‎

    ‎He recalled the contributions of late Onise, Oba Ganiu Adegbesan, greeted First Lady, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, and prayed for peaceful elections in Lagos.
