    Sallah/Children’s Day celebration :Plateau Police Command bans movement of tricycles, Motorcycles

    The Plateau State Commissioner of Police  CP Bassey Ewah  warned residents   to comply with the banned

    operation of commercial Tricycles also known as “Keke-Napep” within the Jos-Bukuru metropolis on Sallah Day and the day after the celebration (27th/28th May, 2026).

    in a press statement made available to this medium by SP Alfred Alabo, ANIPR, JP Police  Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Plateau State Command on celebration EID EL Kabir /Children’s Day  in Jos.

    Plateau Police  Command deployed  an armed of “REJIGS “security architecture ,places ban on commercial tricycles  (KEKE-NAPEPP) on  sallah Day.

     

    Ewah said  ,as it is not intended to infringe on the fundamental rights of any person or group of persons, but to guarantee a peaceful celebration throughout the State.

    CP Bassey Ewah, psc(++), FCAI, MSPSP has put proactive measures in place to ensure that Plateau citizens celebrate peacefully, and that there is no breakdown of law and order in the State.

    According  to him, the ban order was  to ensure public safety, order and a free flow of traffic, the Command has placed a ban on their movements.

    “This ban has become necessary in order to enable the Police to identify and arrest criminal elements who may want to use this period as an avenue to cause tension within the State,”he said.

     

    ” He ,therefore assures the general public that the Command under his leadership is committed to ensuring that Plateau State remains peaceful before, during, and after the Sallah celebrations.

    He has made adequate deployments to major flashpoints within the metropolis and deployed both manpower and operational assets to mosques within the metropolis to ensure that all Muslim faithfuls are safe while carrying out their religious obligations.

    The CP therefore calls on all religious leaders to engage with their congregants and urge them to worship in Mosques within their immediate communities and warn them against any form of prayers outside their Mosques/Worship Centers. He assured them that with their cooperation and support, the Command will ensure that the celebration on the Plateau is smooth and hitch free.

    CP Bassey Ewah therefore warns all criminal elements and mischief makers to desist from executing their evil plans, flee the State or face the full weight of the law.
