A renowned Nigerian academic and development advocate, Professor Babatunde, has been awarded international honours in recognition of his contributions to leadership, governance, and humanitarian service.
He was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Leadership and Governance by the American University of Peace and Governance, USA. In addition, he received a Certificate of Fellowship from the Chartered Institute of Peace and Governance (CIPG), USA.
The awards were presented during a high-profile ceremony held in Kigali, Rwanda, which brought together global leaders and distinguished personalities to celebrate excellence in leadership and governance.
The honours highlight Professor Babatunde’s longstanding commitment to sustainable humanitarian initiatives, social development, and effective governance. His work, both within Nigeria and internationally, has been widely acknowledged as impactful and inspiring.
Reacting to the recognition, the Director General of CYMS Nigeria, Chief Obinna Nwaka, described the awards as well deserved. He noted that Professor Babatunde’s achievements reflect years of dedication, integrity, and selfless service to humanity. According to him, such global recognition underscores the importance of visionary leadership in driving meaningful and lasting societal change.
The Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CYMS) also commended the professor for his role in advancing sustainable development initiatives and strengthening community-based programmes. The organisation described his accomplishments as a source of inspiration and a model for emerging leaders committed to national and global development.
