    Police Thwart Robbery Operation in Anambra Community, Gunmen Flee

    Anambra State police have successfully prevented a planned robbery operation along the Ebenebe-Achalla Road in Awka North Local Government Area. The accomplishment was attributed to the efforts of the Men of Rapid Response Squad during an anti-kidnapping patrol, as stated by the Anambra police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga.

    Two armed gunmen, who were spotted being transported on a motorcycle by an alert citizen, were the subject of the police operation. The police team pursued the gang and confronted them at the location where they were preparing to rob motorists.

    Upon realizing the approaching police operatives, the gunmen attempted to engage them in a shootout. However, the well-prepared police team quickly overwhelmed the criminals, causing them to abandon their weapons and flee into the nearby bushy area.

    Following the operation, the police recovered two AK-47 rifles loaded with several rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and expended rounds.

    The Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, commended the team for their bravery and urged them to intensify proactive operations in that part of the state until all criminal elements that are causing trouble for citizens are completely eradicated.
