The Movement For Better Taraba has called on residents of the state to support the governorship ambition of former lawmaker, Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi (Danji SS), under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The call was contained in a press release signed by the group’s spokesperson, Comrade Maniru Sale, on Tuesday, as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum across Taraba State.

According to the statement, the group expressed confidence in Danji SS’s capacity to provide purposeful leadership, describing him as a politician with a consistent record of engaging governance issues and advocating for accountability.

The group noted that the former lawmaker is not new to opposition politics, having remained vocal on matters of public concern. It added that the former lawmaker has distinguished himself as a politician of conscience, citing his several open letters to Governor Agbu Kefas where he raised concerns over the state’s rising debt profile and what he described as inadequate projects relative to funds borrowed.

They emphasized that his interventions have resonated with many Tarabans who share similar concerns about development and governance in the state.

The group further noted that it has been closing ranks with people across the three senatorial zones, especially in the grassroot where political alignment and realignment of political figures with focus on APGA and Danji SS as a focal person is ongoing, leading to mass defection drive across the state.

The Movement For Better Taraba further stated that as politicking intensifies, there is a growing need for citizens to align with credible alternatives, urging the people of the state to join them in supporting APGA as a platform for change.

Political watchers say the endorsement reflects the increasing realignments ahead of 2027, as various groups continue to mobilize support for preferred candidates across party lines in Taraba State.
