The Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, has called for continued national support and prayers for troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria as they intensify efforts to combat insecurity across the country.

The Minister made the call on Tuesday while receiving the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Lazarus Muoka, during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking during the meeting, General Musa emphasized that the fight against insurgency, terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities requires a collective national effort. He noted that prayers, encouragement, and moral support from religious organizations and Nigerians at large continue to strengthen the morale of troops deployed in various operational theatres nationwide.

The Defence Minister commended Pastor Muoka and members of the church for their unwavering support and consistent prayers for the nation’s security institutions. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces to protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the country.

General Musa also urged religious leaders to continue promoting peace, unity, patriotism, and national cohesion, stressing that faith-based organizations play a significant role in fostering harmony and supporting national security initiatives.

In his remarks, Pastor Muoka assured the Minister of the church’s continued support for the Armed Forces and the Federal Government. He offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, good health, and the capacity to lead the nation toward lasting peace, stability, and economic prosperity.

The cleric also prayed for divine protection and victory for Nigerian troops, as well as enduring peace across all parts of the country.

The visit featured an exchange of souvenirs and reaffirmed the commitment of both the Ministry of Defence and the Christian community to continued collaboration in advancing national peace, unity, and security.

The statement was signed by Leah Katung-Babatunde, Special Assistant (Media) to the Honourable Minister of Defence.
