Famous Nigerian comedian, Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, also known as Mr. Jollof, disclosed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) “used and abandoned” him following the elections.

Originally a supporter of President Bola Tinubu and the APC, Mr. Jollof changed his allegiance to back the former Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, who was the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections. He made this decision after encountering a scripture in the Bible that emphasizes the importance of correcting one’s mistakes.

In a viral video, Mr. Jollof humorously taunted Nigerians about the ongoing fuel price increase and the resulting hardships faced by citizens. He emphasized that he had warned people against supporting the APC.

In his characteristic Pidgin English, Mr. Jollof expressed, “I initially supported Tinubu, but when I observed the people he surrounded himself with and saw how they used me, I realized APC used me.”

However, he shared his relief, citing the biblical reference Luke 15:1-32, comparing it to the parable of the prodigal son. He admitted returning to support [Ifeanyi] Okowa, who embraced him warmly.

He continued, “Now I come back to tell you people that Tinubu is a ‘walker.’ Before now, you all didn’t believe me, but look at it now. Fuel is now selling for N617, affecting everyone.”
