The opposition African democratic Congress (ADC), Kebbi State under the leadership of Sufiyanu Bala has chided the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for intentionally persecuting the former minister of justice and attorney general of the federation Abubakar Chika Malami to force him to abandon his governorship ambition in Kebbi State.
ADC, in a statement co-signed by the state Chairman, Sufiyanu Bala, and Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Sambawa said that the the federal government is muzzling the opposition at federal and state levels to instil fear in them to give up their ambition because it is clear to all APC members and their supporters that their party will sink in 2027.
”By 12noon, in 2027, their party is gone hence the reason they are intimidating strong opposition who look poised to change them, particularly Malami who is being persecuted through the judiciary”.
The ADC elders forum also alleged meddling from the state government to thwart Malami’s governorship ambition using many forms of intimidation stating categorically that nothing will stop Malami from participating in 2027 polls.
The statement further alleged that the asset seizure was another coordinated ploy by both governments to scare Malami.
The party maintains that it remains undeterred in the face of judicial and political persecution even as they expressed confidence in the judiciary to overturn recent judgement .
