Chris Brown granted permission to travel amid assault trial

    Published on

R&B star Chris Brown has been allowed to return to the United States while awaiting trial over an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub in 2023.
Judge Tony Baumgartner of Southwark Crown Court approved changes to the singer’s bail conditions on Tuesday, October 28. Brown, 35, appeared in court dressed in a white shirt and tie before waving to fans as he left the courthouse.

The court maintained his £5 million security bond, while still permitting international travel.
Brown pleaded not guilty to assaulting music producer Abraham Diaw and to possessing an offensive weapon — a bottle — at Tape nightclub in Mayfair.
His co-defendant, Omololu Akinlolu, also pleaded not guilty.

Judge Baumgartner warned the pair to return to the UK for the next hearing on January 28 or risk forfeiting their bail securities.
The case continues as the singer balances his global Breezy Bowl XX tour with ongoing legal proceedings.
