    Olubadan of Ibadan urges Bola Ahmed Tinubu to speed up the creation of state police

    The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja has enjoined the federal government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to expedite action on the establishment of state Police.

    Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, noted that this was necessary to address the level of insecurity across the country.

    The traditional ruler made these declarations on Monday while receiving participants of Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 19, 2026 of the Institute for Security Studies (NISS ) Bwari, Abuja.

    The event took place at the Olubadan palace located at Oke Aremo in Ibadan North local government area.

    Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan, Chief Solomon Ayoade, in a statement issued on behalf of the traditional ruler and made available to DAILY POST, explained that the Olubadan said that state Police will complement the efforts of other security agencies.

    The traditional added that the most serious challenge facing Nigeria at the moment was insecurity.

    He then used the opportunity to call on the federal government not to waist more time in the establishment of the state Police.

    He said, “I call on the Federal Government to expedite action on the establishment of State Police to complement the efforts of other security agencies to ensure the community policing”.

    The Director of Studies, Mrs Ibahim Halimah Zanna, who led the team, appreciated the warm reception given to them by the traditional ruler despite the short notice for the visit.

    She revealed that they are in Oyo State to undertake a week study tour.
