    Rector seeks staff support for institutional reforms in Kogi Polythecnic

    The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Salihu Sanusi Avidime has called for the support of staff for the reforms of the institution.

    A statement issued on Wednesday by the Director, public relations and protocol,Uredo Omale stated that the Rector made the call on Tuesday when he paid a familiarisation visit to the Utakpe campus of the Polytechn as part of ongoing engagements with staff and stakeholders across the institution following his appointment last week.

    Addressing the staff members during the visit, the Rector described the School of Engineering as central to the mandate and original purpose for which the Polytechnic was established, stressing the need to strengthen technical education and practical training within the institution.

    ” The visit was aimed at familiarising myself with staff members, understanding their challenges, and identifying areas requiring urgent attentions to enhance productivity and institutional growth.

    He reaffirmed that his administration remains committed to improving staff members’ welfare, acknowledging the critical role staff members play in achieving academic excellence and institutional stability.

    “Your unwavering support is highly essential to achieve our noble objectives . He expressed optimism that identified challenges would be addressed through collective effort and with Allah’s wisdom and guidance.

    Reiterating his commitment to fairness and equity, Prof. Avidime affirmed his stand for justice in the administration of the Polytechnic, urging staff members to remain law-abiding, diligent and committed to their responsibilities while allowing management to address issues of truancy and misconduct appropriately.

    Prof. Avidime expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his continued support and for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the Polytechnic. He also paid glowing tribute to the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, for his support and encouragement.

    Members of staff who spoke in turns assured the Rector of their unalloyed support, loyalty and support for his administration.

    Highlights of the visit was a facility tour of the institution.
