A total of Seventy- nine students have graduated from the Kogi state polythecnic,Lokoja as the institution set for it’s fifth combined convocation ceremony.
Addressing a pre-convocation briefing on Thursday,the outgoing Rector, Professor Salisu Ogbo said students who completed their courses of instructions and have met all the requirements, both in character and learning as approved by the Academic Board for 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions would be graduating.
Professor Salisu Ogbo who had been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubarkar Audu University, Ayingba said that a total of 1,711 students are graduating with National Diploma (ND) in various programmes while 1,254 students are graduating with Higher National Diploma (HND) in various programmes.
He said that the healthy distribution of Distinction, Upper Credit, Lower Credit, and Pass grades across programmes underscores improved academic discipline, integrity in examinations, and enhanced teaching and learning outcomes.
“This performance profile reinforces the Polytechnic’s reputation for producing graduates who are not only academically sound but also practically equipped and industry-ready”. Professor Ogbo noted.
He said that the timely release of results, and the impressive number of graduands are clear indicators that Kogi State Polytechnic has moved decisively away from an era of uncertainty to one of predictability, order, and academic confidence.
“It affirms our commitment to ensuring that students graduate as and when due, without unnecessary delays, frustrations, or administrative bottlenecks”.
Professor Salisu Ogbo assumed office as Acting Rector on 7th April, 2020 and was subsequently confirmed on 12th February, 2021, by the immediate past Governorand vuditor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Eight months before the expiration of his first tenure, the incumbent, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, approved the renewal of his appointment with effect from 12th February, 2025.
Just last week, on the eve of the first anniversary of the renewal of his, Governor Ododo appointed him as Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.
