    NCTC Partners NIPR on WPRF, NSS, NPRW, Others

    The National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Office of the National Security Adviser has expressed willingness to partner with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in its key programmes aimed at enhancing the nation’s reputation.

    The National Coordinator, NCTC, Major General Adamu Garba Laka disclosed this yesterday when he received in audience a top delegation from the NIPR led by the President.

    Major General Laka, while applauding the Institute for its efforts in deepening national cohesion and managing the country’s reputation urged citizens to stop giving prominence to narratives that undermine the nation’s image before the global audience, but amplify many positive stories emanating from the country.

    Earlier in his presentation, NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku informed the National Coordinator of several robust initiatives the Institute has introduced in raising the bar of reputation management for sustainable national development.

    Dr. Neliaku, who noted that Nigeria remains one of the best countries on earth said NIPR is prepared to collaborate with relevant stakeholders towards rebuilding Nigeria’s reputation for global competitiveness.

    According to him, the forthcoming World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) holding November 2026 in Abuja is a platform deliberately designed to project the values of the nation to the global community; Nigeria Spokespersons Summit (NSS) conceived to enhance the capacity of Spokespersons across various organisations in the areas of public communication and reputation management; and Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) carefully structured to add value to the society through spotlighting critical aspects of the economy and promoting such for inclusive development.

    He also briefed his host on the stablishment of the first sector-based University of Public Relations and Leadership (UPRL); Nigeria Reputation Management Group (NRMG), 2026 International Women’s Day celebration and REBIRTH Nigeria Initiative.

    The President was accompanied by Council Members Dr. Ahmad Sajoh; Dr. Suleiman Haruna; the Registrar, Chief Uzoma Onyegbadue; Executive Director, Development Spec Academy, Prof. Okey Ikechukwu; CEO, Blue Economy Nig. Ltd, Haj. Lami Tumaka and Former Director, NEPC, Dr. Joe Itah.

    Others are: Head, Public Relations, Budget Office of the Federation, Dr. Afolabi Olajuwon; Fmr. Director, FCDA, Dr. Tiwalade Fapohunda; Snr. Lecturer, Cosmopolitan University, Dr. Mohammad Kudu Abubakar; CEO, Rightangle PR, Mrs. Oge Neliaku; Anchor, Focus Nigeria, AIT, Dr. Amaechi Anakwue and Director, Public Relations, NIPR, Mr. Stanley Ogadigo.
