Ogun East APC leaders dismiss Gbenga Daniel’s suspension

    Published on

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun East Senatorial District have rejected claims that Senator Gbenga Daniel has been suspended, describing the reports as “fake, unconstitutional, and politically motivated.”

Speaking at a press conference in Sagamu, leaders representing all 103 wards in the district insisted that the alleged suspension originated from Ward 4, not Daniel’s Ward 12, and therefore had no legitimacy.

They accused some state officials of orchestrating the move to weaken Daniel ahead of the 2027 elections.

Daniel’s media aide, Steve Oliyide, dismissed the reports as baseless. “There was no allegation, no petition, no investigative panel, and no official letter of suspension,” he said.

He questioned why the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, would speak for the APC, saying such interference exposed the political motive behind the move.

“We have no doubt this is connected to the 2027 senatorial ticket,” Oliyide said.

Legal counsel Prof. Yemi Oke (SAN) confirmed that a formal letter had been sent to the Ogun APC requesting all documents relating to the purported suspension.

The conference was attended by prominent APC figures from Ogun East, who reaffirmed their support for Daniel as a loyal party member and serving senator.
