Trump: No exclusions from US steel, aluminum tariffs

    Published on

According to U.S. President Donald Trump, he has no plans to provide exemptions from steel and aluminum tariffs.

According to Trump, sectoral and reciprocal tariffs will be applied on April 2.

As you may remember, Trump increased import duties on steel and aluminum to a flat 25% last month, with no exceptions.

This action was intended to support US business while also fueling a growing trade conflict.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, the US president stated that vehicle charges would be accompanied by reciprocal duties on US trading partners.

In some instances, both. We charge them, and they charge us. In addition to that, we’re going to have some more on cars, steel, and aluminum,” he stated.

The Republican has previously stated that from the start of April, he would apply reciprocal tariffs to both US allies and adversaries.
