    Kogi CP decoroates 39 newly promoted officers,harps on discipline, Professionalism

    The Commissioner of Police, Kogi 4State Police Command, CP Bethrand C. Onuoha, on Thursday decorated the newly promoted Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Ochoma ThankGod, and 39 other officers.

    The decorations took place in a grand ceremony aerrt the M.M. Katsina Conference Hall, State Headquarters, Lokoja marking a significant milestone in their careers.

    A statement issued in the early hours of Friday by the Public Relations officer,SP William Aya stated that the occasion was graced by distinguished guests, including the Traditional Chiefs of Adankolo, members of the Command Management Team, ‘other senior Officers both serving and retired, relatives and well-wishers.

    “The event is a significant occasion for the Police Organization, marking a time of recognition to inspire fearlessness and forge a legacy of success.”

    In his address, the Commissioner of Police, “charged the newly promoted Officers to exhibit the core values of service, discipline, sacrifice, professionalism and selflessness in the discharge of their duties”. Aya wrote

    “He commended their dedication and hard work, which have earned them these well-deserved promotions. He further stressed that the new ranks represent increased responsibilities. Noting that Police are servants of the people not master, be fair and do not corrupt justice.

    The CP expresses gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun,and the Chairman, Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu, for recognizing Officers through promotions.

    He stated further, in the Police Force, higher ranks come with greater challenges, contrary to the saying that, “the higher you go, the cooler it becomes”.

    The cooperation of the communities and families is crucial in managing these responsibilities. Emphasizes the importance of community support and cooperation in maintaining security. Noting that security is a shared responsibility, not just the duty of Security Agencies alone.

    The recently elevated Officers, ACP Ochoma ThankGod, speaking on behalf of the newly promoted Officers, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Inspector-General, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, the Chairman, Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu, mni, Rtd, for finding them worthy of the promotion.

    He further appreciate the CP for his exceptional leadership and outstanding legacy, while acknowledged that the new chapter is a call for them to double their efforts in discharging their mandates.

    Finally, the CP thanks the invited guests for their presence, while acknowledging the support of the families and communities in the success of Police operations.

    The ceremony was a moment of joy and recognition, highlighting the positive aspects.
