    Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) Pledge to Enhance Airspace Security

    The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) have affirmed their dedication to ensuring the safety of Nigeria’s airspace. This commitment was emphasized during a meeting between the Managing Director of NAMA, Mr. Umar Farouq, and the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, and his team at NAF headquarters in Abuja.

    According to the statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF, AVM Edward Gabkwet, Farouq expressed appreciation for the existing cooperation between the two organizations, particularly in safeguarding the nation’s airspace. He reiterated NAMA’s commitment to the ongoing collaboration, highlighting the positive impact on airspace management, safety, and overall national security.

    Farouq further suggested potential areas of collaboration, including search and rescue coordination, technology and innovation, information sharing, and data exchange, with the belief that such cooperation could yield significant benefits for both organizations.

    In response, CAS Abubakar acknowledged the longstanding positive relationship between NAF and NAMA, emphasizing its continual growth and contribution to enhancing airspace security in Nigeria. He expressed optimism about reaching new heights through collaborative efforts and stressed the importance of maintaining and expanding the trajectory of their partnership.

    CAS Abubakar assured NAMA’s chief of the NAF’s commitment to solidify and strengthen the existing relationship. He also congratulated Farouq on his appointment, expressing confidence that his expertise and experience in the aviation industry would contribute to elevating NAMA to greater heights.
