    NiMet Forecasts 3-Day Weather Patterns: Cloudy with Sunny Intervals

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has outlined a weather forecast spanning three days, from Friday to Sunday, indicating a mix of cloudy and sunny conditions across the nation.

    NiMet’s weather outlook, released on Thursday in Abuja, predicts cloudiness and intervals of sunshine in the northern region on Friday. Isolated thunderstorms are anticipated in the morning hours for parts of Adamawa, Taraba, Kebbi, and Sokoto states.

    As the day progresses, thunderstorms are expected over various areas, including Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Taraba, and Adamawa states. The North Central region is expected to experience a cloudy atmosphere with prospects of isolated thunderstorms and rains over parts of Niger, Kwara, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory during the morning. Later in the day, rains and thunderstorms are envisaged over parts of Niger, Kogi, Benue, Plateau, Kwara, and the Federal Capital Territory.

    In the southern and coastal states, the morning will bring a cloudy atmosphere with chances of intermittent rains over areas such as Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Edo, Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states. Later in the day, intermittent rains are predicted over parts of Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, Anambra, Edo, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Lagos, and Cross River states.

    Moving to Saturday, the northern region is expected to have a cloudy atmosphere with intervals of sunshine in the morning, along with prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Taraba, Adamawa, and Kebbi states. Later in the day, scattered thunderstorms are forecasted for various states including Kaduna, Jigawa, Yobe, Borno, Taraba, Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Katsina, Kano, and Zamfara.

    In the North Central region, a similar pattern is projected: a cloudy atmosphere with isolated thunderstorms and rains in the morning, followed by thunderstorms with heavy rains in the afternoon and evening over parts of Plateau, Niger, Kwara, Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory.

    For the southern and coastal cities, cloudiness is expected in the morning, with intermittent rains predicted for parts of Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Enugu, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom states. Later in the day, intermittent rains are likely over parts of Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Enugu, Anambra, Imo, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Cross River states.

    On Sunday, cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine are anticipated over the northern region, with prospects of morning thunderstorms over parts of Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, and Bauchi states. The forecast spans the weekend, providing a glimpse of the weather conditions expected across various regions in Nigeria.
