Yul Edochie’s First Wife, May, Allegedly Initiates Divorce Proceedings

    Published on

There are reports that May, the first wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has started divorce proceedings against him. According to sources, May and her legal representative visited a court on July 10 to file a petition for the dissolution of their 18-year marriage. However, it is claimed that Yul has been avoiding being served the necessary documents.

The primary cause of conflict between the couple is said to be Yul’s decision to marry actress Judy Austin as his second wife. Yul publicly announced the birth of his son with Judy and their subsequent marriage in April 2022.

May has consistently expressed her disapproval of Yul’s union with Judy, stating that their marriage was once stable and loving before these unforeseen events. She firmly believes that polygamy is a personal choice and refuses to be forced into accepting a practice that goes against her faith and family values.

It is worth noting that Yul has faced criticism on social media for what some perceive as a quick rebound following the tragic loss of his first son with May, Kambilichukwu, who passed away in March. Critics argue that his frequent sharing of videos featuring himself and Judy spending time together suggests that he has not properly mourned the loss of his son, making the cheerful videos appear insensitive.
