A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Maitama, has ordered Jordan Wike, son of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to produce his American international passport in court as hearing continued in a $2.1 million land dispute.
Justice Sylvanus Oriji made the order on Tuesday, following an application by the counsel to the claimants, Hamza Dantani, requesting the defendant to produce the passport for the court’s inspection.
The suit, marked CV/008/2026, was instituted by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited against Jordan Wike.
The claimants, through their counsel, alleged that they first met Jordan in London, where they developed a relationship, before subsequently meeting him in Abuja about three months later.
According to them, they approached Jordan for assistance in facilitating the acquisition of land in Abuja, and he allegedly assured them that he could facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape.
They further alleged that Jordan quoted $2.1 million as the facilitation fee, claiming that $2 million was meant for his father, while $100,000 was allegedly for himself.
The claimants further alleged that the money was delivered on September 26, 2025, in the presence of Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki and Sai Wani, while Jordan was said to have been accompanied by Onor Sandy.
They also claimed that after receiving the money, Jordan neither facilitated the acquisition of the land nor refunded the funds, but allegedly became unreachable.
However, Jordan, represented by Mr Ogwu Onoja, SAN, denied the allegations and adopted his statement on oath in which he disputed the claims against him.
Several documents were also tendered through the defendant during the proceedings.
During cross-examination by Dantani, Jordan denied knowledge of several matters put to him by the claimants’ counsel.
Dantani subsequently applied for the defendant to write his full name and signature five times each on a plain sheet of paper. The application was granted by the court and was not opposed by the defence.
In another significant moment during the proceedings, Jordan was asked where he was on September 26, 2025 and he told the court that he was not in Nigeria on that date.
When asked which international passport he used to travel, Jordan said he travelled with his American international passport, adding that he could produce it if required.
Following the response, Dantani applied for the passport to be produced before the court.
Justice Oriji granted the application and ordered Jordan to produce the American passport in court.
The court, thereafter, adjourned the matter until Wednesday for continuation of hearing.
