‎President Bola Tinubu has forwarded names of nominees for key federal institutions to the Senate for screening and confirmation.

‎

‎The letters were read on Tuesday by Senate President Godswill Akpabio as the Senate resumed plenary after long annual recess.

‎

‎Tinubu is seeking confirmation of Abdullahi Maikano as Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), and six other nominees as members of the commission.

‎

‎The request was referred to the Senate Committee on Finance for screening and given two weeks to report back to plenary.

‎

‎In a separate letter, the President nominated Sani Ndanusa as Non-Career Ambassador/High Commissioner.

‎

‎The nomination was referred to the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and also expected to report within two weeks.

‎

‎In another communication, Tinubu sought confirmation of Wakil Bulka as member of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC).

‎

‎Bulka is to represent Bauchi, Borno, and Yobe states on the commission.

‎

‎The nomination was referred to the Committee on Establishment and Public Service and mandated to conclude screening and report back in two weeks.

‎

‎The referrals are part of moves to fill vacancies in critical governance and fiscal oversight institutions as the National Assembly resumes legislative business.
