The Honourable Minister of the FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has named Honourable Michael O. Chinda as the Senior Special Assistant for Land, Urban, and Regional Planning.
Born on September 17, 1960, in Rivers State, Honourable Michael O. Chinda boasts a distinguished academic record and a wealth of professional experience.
He achieved his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Port Harcourt in 2004 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Technology from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, which he obtained in 1987.
Throughout his career, Honourable Chinda has held several significant appointments and responsibilities, showcasing his dedication to public service and his strong qualifications:
- He served as a Senior Lands Officer at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, where he displayed exemplary commitment from 1989 to 2004. His tenure in this role allowed him to hone his expertise in land administration and urban planning.
- From 2008 to 2010, he held the position of Secretary of the Obio Akpor Local Government Council, where he demonstrated strong administrative and leadership skills in local governance.
- As a distinguished legislator in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Honourable Chinda served the people of Rivers State from 2011 to 2023, contributing significantly to lawmaking, policy development, and community progress.
Hon. Chinda has also received the prestigious title of Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, a notable recognition of his contributions to the real estate and land management sector.
