The immediate past Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress APC in Kogi state,Dr Abdulahi Bello has said that the party has no opposition both in the state and the country as a whole.

Bello who was screened and confirmed as the Commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs by the state house of Assembly on Wednesday attributed the strength of the APC in the state and nationwide to the performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, noting that the President “has been able to work to win the hearts of Nigerians.”

“The narrative now is that there is no viable opposition in Kogi State. Kogi is taking a cue from President Tinubu. The Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, is working hard to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people by following the footsteps of Mr President.” Bello added.

He said that 2027 “will be a walkover for the APC in Kogi State,” saying the party will win every election in the state with all its candidates emerging victorious.

Bello thanked Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for the appointment and expressed optimism that he would add value to local government administration by adhering to the template already in place.

“Anything that will advance the welfare of local government workers is what I will follow and that remains my priority,” the commissioner said.

Punch reports that Dr Abdulahi Bello was nominated as a commissioner designate last week in a minor cabinet reshuffle following the resignation of Commissioner for works , Engineer Mohammed Ahovi Yusuf as Commissioner for works and redeployment of Barrister Ozigi Salami Deedat to ministry of works.
