United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, known as Africa’s Global Bank, has reaffirmed its commitment to the well-being of its employees and their families, taking into account the current economic realities and their impact on living conditions.

In response to the rising cost of living and economic challenges faced by its staff, the bank’s Board of Directors has announced an immediate implementation of a cost of living adjustment for all employees.

UBA’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Oliver Alawuba, emphasized the bank’s dedication to maintaining a standard of living for its employees that aligns with prevailing economic conditions. He expressed gratitude for the staff’s hard work and acknowledged their pivotal role in the bank’s success.

In addition to the cost of living adjustment, UBA had previously promoted over 1,500 staff across Africa in March 2023 and nearly 1,000 staff in 2022, as part of its commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellent performance.

With 25,000 employees worldwide and serving over 35 million customers globally, UBA aims to create a conducive and rewarding work environment that empowers its employees to thrive both personally and professionally. The bank’s latest initiative aims to alleviate financial burdens and reinforce its position as a responsible and caring employer.
