A civil society organization in Kebbi state, northwestern Nigeria grassroots advocacy for peace and good governance has described the call for former Zamfara governor, Senator Abdul Aziz Yari probe and prosecution as reckless and regionally motivated.

The National Chairman of the civil society organization, Comrade Usman Muhammad Anache in a statement signed by him on Friday expressed dismay that Yurba youth council and ohaneaze Ndigbo will resort to cheap blackmail and a media charade to shade Senator Yari in a bad light without recourse to due process which is going through the anti graft agency, DSS or court to seek his probe not on the pages of online medium.

The statement added that giving the government and anti graft agency ultimatum to begin probe of Yari show the extent of their desperation and personal hate for his person and region.

He contended that if their motive is not regionally motivated why the two associations make same call even with a fake bank transaction which doesn’t carry any bank name signalling arrant ploy to discredit him.

Anache maintained that such organizations are expected to be detribalised and none regional because one expects them to wear a national face but unfortunately they are driven by personal hate for Senator Yari and his region hence the reason for the joint waterless call for his probe laced with blackmail.

” We wish to categorically state here that every Nigerian regardless of his position below or high remains an accuse until proven guilty by a competent court therefore Senator Yari is clean until proven otherwise through legal means”.

The CSO admonished the two desperate associations to abandone their quest for division and work towards the unity of Nigeria even as they have right to voice concerns on issues they need clarifications not to resort to local mischief to advance regional division.
