In a shocking incident in Akinjagunla community, Ondo State, a civil servant named Abiodun Akintomowo reportedly passed away after engaging in a sexual encounter with his mistress, identified as Bimpe. The incident occurred in a popular guest house in the neighborhood, leaving the community in distress.

Abiodun Akintomowo, a father of two from Ondo town in Ondo West Local Government Area, is said to have collapsed and died after the intimate encounter. Bimpe, who is known as the wife of a local landlord, raised an alarm upon his collapse, and though she briefly fell into a coma, she was quickly revived.

Sources indicate that the deceased’s body has been moved to the morgue of the University of Medical Sciences in Ondo town for further examination. An anonymous source suggested a local belief that the tragedy might be linked to the mistress allegedly being laced with a ‘thunderbolt,’ a term in local parlance referring to mystical or supernatural retribution associated with infidelity or sexual relations.

The source stated, “What I can say is that the man died in the hotel room after having sex with the woman said to be his mistress but laced with thunderbolt popularly called (Magun) in local parlance. The woman raised the alarm after realizing that the man collapsed; the manager of the hotel and some residents raced to the scene and made frantic efforts to see if they could rescue him, he was later confirmed dead.”

The guest house management reported the incident to the Yaba Divisional Police Station in the community, leading to the arrest of two suspects in connection with Akintomowo’s death, according to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Fumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya.
