Tinubu not focused with 2027 election

    Published on

According to the Presidency, President Bola Tinubu is not considering the 2027 election.

According to Sunday Dare, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, the president is now worried about and concentrated on his economic plans that will enhance Nigerians’ quality of life.

Dare claimed in a post on his X page that Tinubu is more focused on the long-term effects of his programs than on political wrangling before 2027.

Our foreign reserves have increased. We have witnessed a decrease in inflation. Our trade surplus has increased. Imports have decreased while exports have increased.

Over $50 billion in investments have been drawn, as we have seen. Prices are declining. We have unambiguous data, and your president is obviously in control. We have clear data, and you have a President that is clearly in the driver’s seat, and he has stayed the course of the decisions he has taken.

Furthermore, I don’t believe he is currently in favor of the next election. At the conclusion of his first term, he will be able to look back and say, “I have made a difference in the lives of Nigerians.” This economy has recovered thanks to me.

His remarks coincide with efforts to form a political alliance that is anticipated to challenge Tinubu in 2027.

Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, recently traveled to Nigeria to meet with several influential figures after criticizing the All Progressives Congress, or APC.

In an effort to accelerate the coalition’s formation, El-Rufai left the APC after his travels and joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
