In a personally signed statement issued by the presidency on Tuesday in honor of Buhari’s 82nd birthday, Tinubu made the pledge.

The Nigerian leader stated in his statement that former President Buhari left behind a legacy of infrastructure advancements and pledged to continue building upon it.

On his 82nd birthday, President Tinubu wished Buhari continued health, happiness, and fulfillment while also thanking the former leader for his contributions to Nigeria.

Buhari’s persistence and fortitude in running for president in 2003, 2007, and 2011 before winning in 2015 and 2019 were praised in the statement, which said it serves as a lesson in perseverance.
