‎Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has approved the payment of N25 million to support the medical treatment of veteran actress, Ngozi Nwosu.

‎The payment was made on Wednesday to the hospital where the actress is receiving care, according to the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Dr Justice Okey Martins, popularly known as JMartins.

‎JMartins disclosed this in a post on his official X handle on Thursday.

‎“Yesterday before the close of work, His Excellency @alexottiofr our pragmatic leader made good his promise, directing a 25M payment to the hospital’s account where our Nollywood legendary actress Mrs Ngozi Nwosu is receiving treatment,” he wrote.

‎The aide commended Otti for honouring his commitment to the actress.

‎“We thank you immensely for your support and kindness of heart sir. History will be kind to you,” he added.

‎JMartins had earlier announced on Tuesday that the governor had approved the first tranche of medical support for Nwosu following reports of her health condition.

‎Nwosu, a screen veteran, has featured in several Nollywood films and TV productions, and is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the industry.

‎Nwosu, in an emotional Instagram video, had revealed that she had been hospitalised for three weeks, and needed N30 million for three surgeries.

‎“My people, my fans and my family… I’ve been hospitalised now for three weeks. Please, the thing has gone beyond my control.

‎“I need your help. Don’t let me die… I’m going through a lot, in pain,” she said.

‎The actress asked those willing to support her treatment to contact her management.
