Oyo State chieftains and All Progressives Congress (APC) members have been asked by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to unite and cooperate in order to retake the state in 2027.
According to him, the state is too significant to be excluded from the progressive fold.
At Monday’s first Lam Adesina annual lecture in Ibadan, the state capital, Tinubu made this claim while being represented by Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power.
Alhaji Olayide Abas, the state’s APC chairman, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, Chief Alake Adeyemo, Senator Teslim Folarin, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, and former Ekiti State governors Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo and Dr. Kayode Fayemi were present at the ceremony.

During May 1999 until May 2003, Adesina served as the state’s governor.
In both the 2019 and 2023 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated the APC in the state.
According to the minister, the greatest way to pay tribute to the former governor is to make sure that the party’s leaders unite in their efforts to win back the state in the upcoming elections.
