    Three months after leaving APC, former Kano Governor, Shekarau rejoins PDP

    Former Governor of Kano state North West Nigeria Senator Ibrahim Shekarau has formally defected from the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) ,to major opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
    Shekarau defection took place today in his residence in Kano at an event attended by the Presidential Candidate of PDP ,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

    Other dignitaries to welcome the former Governor back to PDP is the National Chairman of the Party Dr. Iyoucha Ayu , Executive Governor of Sokoto state ,Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal ,among other major stakeholders.

    Shekarau stated at the occasion that he has written a letter before to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC, ),the NNPC offices at the National State Local Government and ward levels informing them of his decission to quit the Party.

    He added that INEC offices at the National and State levels has been duly informed of his decission to relinquish his Senatorial contest under the NNPC platform.

    This defection will amount to second move by Shekarau going into PDP.He was in PDP between 2014 2018 when he left the All Nigerian People’s Party (ANPP).
