Tems has unveiled the trailer for her highly anticipated album, ‘Born in the Wild,’ set to be released in May 2024. The announcement follows her recent performance at Coachella, where she showcased a track from the upcoming album, sampling the 90s classic, “Love Me Jeje.”

The one-minute trailer, dropped on Monday, April 15, 2024, offers a nostalgic glimpse into Tems’ childhood, featuring young children playing in the park and scenes depicting her upbringing in the suburbs of Lagos. The video hints at an exploration of Tems’ journey from childhood to womanhood, with the album potentially delving into personal experiences and cultural influences.

During her Coachella performance, Tems also treated fans to an unreleased track from ‘Born in the Wild,’ further teasing the album’s themes and musical direction. Notably, the track samples the iconic 1999 song “Love Me Jeje” by Seyi Sodimu, evoking a sense of nostalgia for Nigerians born in the ’90s.

The title of Tems’ album, ‘Born in the Wild,’ bears resemblance to Seyi Sodimu’s ‘Born in Africa,’ adding an intriguing layer of connection between past and present cultural touchstones.

With the teaser trailer and live performance offering glimpses into Tems’ artistic vision, anticipation for ‘Born in the Wild’ continues to build among fans eager to experience her latest musical journey.
