Nigeria’s Super Eagles retained the Unity Cup competition by thrashing the Reggae Boys of Jamaica 3-0 at The Valley in England.
The West African nation had taken out the Warriors of Zimbabwe by 2-0 in the semi-final last week to qualify for the final.
During the final, which was played on Saturday, saw the Super Eagles begin dominantly, taking the lead just three minutes in.
Alhassan Yusuf opened the scoring with a perfect right-footed finish.
After the break, Eric Chelle’s men doubled their advantage with a header from Terem Moffi in the centre of the box, following a pinpoint delivery from Femi Azeez.
In stoppage time, after dominating Jamaica throughout the match, Yusuf sealed the victory for Nigeria with his second goal, assisted by Philip Otele.
Eric Chelle and the Super Eagles successfully defended their Unity Cup crown against the Reggae Boyz, while Zimbabwe secured third place after edging India 1-0.
The victory also means Nigeria remains the champion in all four editions of the Unity Cup since the competition began in 2002.
